Visions of Loveliness GUEST POST Cupcakes and Cutlery

Good Morning Lovelies! Here is our second edtion of the NEW Monthly Column VISIONS OF LOVELINESS by our favorite lovely herself...Sharon of Cupcakes and Cutlery.  With the holidays quickly approaching, what better way to begin than with Thanksgiving.  Yes...I was already thinking about Christmas...but once I saw this gorgeousness, I knew I could have a pretty holiday table without a rustic turkey or the appearance of a cornacopia.  Sharon has put together a perfect arrangement for a modern get together that I LOVE...and I can use my mom's vintage turquoise goblets and stemware that have been vacationing in the attic since my wedding (many moons ago.) YAY! Thank you Darling!!

Sharon says, "Right out of college, before anyone had kids, we used to get together every year for "Buddy Thanksgiving."  It was the brainchild of one of our male friends.  But what does he know about putting together a party, let alone a Thanksgiving, complete with turkey dinner?  Zip, so of course my sister-in-law (before she was my sister-in-law) took over and enlisted my help.  We helped to organize the potluck and of course, set a nice little table.  This lasted about 3 years and it sort of fizzled out.  I would love to do this again.  This is what I imagine it might look like.  Everyone would help prepare the food and it would be way more casual and less Thanksgiving-y.  There would be great food, good drinks, music, games and of course, children.  The only thing missing is a big enough house to hold it at.  At the time of year when you hear about "togetherness" and "family" it seems to be the hardest time to actually get together.  I think I'll propose Buddy Thanksgiving in February this year.  I'll let you know what happens.  And I adore the stripe table from Scout - Holiday so much that I think it is also the inspiration for my son's upcoming 2nd bday...Thank you Jenny for letting me have a little piece of Hank and Hunt each month.  It really allows me to explore some really cool blogs and beautiful images."
