LAVENDER ICE CREAM FLOATS

Good morning lovelies! Don't mind me while I race around behind the scenes making little bits of awesome and finishing up some school shopping. I did want to share a little DIY for grown up ice cream floats that I did over on THE SWEETEST OCCASION...

Have you ever had a LAVENDER ICE CREAM FLOAT? I have tried lemon lavender ice cream, but I had never heard of lavender soda until I tried DRY Soda. A company based in Seattle, making the most divine, not too sweet, all natural, only 4 ingredients, soda. It comes in a variety of flavors like cucumber, blood orange, lemon grass and rhubarb. I can say they are all delicious. DRY Soda was one of our sponsors for the Meet & Greet and I was dying to try it out for a float. It was awesome.

The packaging is so pretty, and the soda itself is clear.  How gorgeous would these be at your next event? I highly recommend grabbing some on your next trip to the grocer.

DIY PARTY ANIMALS

Good Morning! I have a DIY you won't want to miss over on THE SWEETEST OCCASION - PARTY ANIMAL CAKE TOPPERS. Yep, these are crazy easy and turn out undeniably cute. It's a must make for any occasion, can't you just see this little guy on that birthday dessert at the end of your bestie's dinner? I bet the restaurant would put it on top in the back to bring it out while they sing...which everyone hates, but you HAVE to do. Right?

My favorite is the squirrel.  He's just so awesome. Can anyone count how many times I say awesome in the post on The Sweetest Occasion?

BETTER THAN BUNTING?

Hello all! Just a quick little post to say...did you see it?  My latest DIY for THE SWEETEST OCCASION is a bunting tablecloth and I am so excited about it...CRAZY excited.  It was so fun and I need MORE.  I  have been searching for a pretty little linen tablecloth to make a silver version. But go HERE and see how it's done...super easy, I promise.

DIY GLITTER CUPCAKE STAND

I found it!  So, I created a little DIY for THE SWEETEST OCCASION that involves lots and lots of glitter. I ended up using Martha's glitter because it has a very pretty champagne shade to it that resembles german glitter.  I was over perusing BHLDN's decor section and saw this...REAL glass glitter.  Isn't it pretty?  This would be the perfect glitter to use on the project...in an ombre with the magenta version.  Either way, add a little bit of sparkle to your next fete and try out my DIY here.

I know this next statement is like 99% impossible...but...did you know what BHLDN is?  If you love Anthropologie, this is their "wedding" store.  I put quotes around the word because really the decor is perfect for any party you can dream of.  The prices are reasonable (on some things) and the selection is pristine...and they have the most gorgeous shades of colors available.  Striking.  I love the green.

FONT FRIDAY: ISSUE 12

I am writing about this fab font this today because I LOVE it.  I am also pretty sure it has been covered in FONT FRIDAY before...but I don't care. I love it.  I need it. I just have never tried to use an EPS file.  I googled it and found these instructions that I will try.  This font is WELL worth the little bit of extra trouble...I mean, COME ON...look at this!

This is NELMA by MISSY AUSTIN for LOST TYPE CO-OP.  Does Missy sound familiar?  Kerry over on SUPER SWOON just did a post on her illustrations HERE.  LOVE. This girl just graduated last year, and I can't wait to see when her talent explodes...

Garland DIYs

Hello Lovelies! I made the crazy decision at the last minute to NOT bring my laptop on our little adventure to visit the inlaws.  So, if you've been wondering where I am... But, I had to pop on and share this little lovely with you. Sharon, of Cupcakes and Cutlery, sent me a preview after she made a tester of this lovely little garland. It was amazing!  It's totally weather proof, which is hard to find in the party world...rain, wind...bring it ON! Of course, since it's from Sharon it's mega freaking awesome! Oh, did I mention you can make oodles for like a BUCK? Go see her lovely DIY HERE!

But wait...there's more.  If you haven't seen it already...over on The Sweetest Occasion is my DIY for the original Hank + Hunt RUFFLED GARLAND. I promised I would share the secret recipe and I delivered.  It's super easy but it takes patience and a bit of time.  But, I promise you it's worth it! Enjoy!

DIY Goodies On The Sweetest Occasion

As I finish up a few things for the shop...the printies are coming, the printies are coming...I thought I would share some links for the DIYs this week over on The Sweetest Occasion.

One of my resloutions this year was to show you how to make everything in my shop.  Everything. I know there are a bunch of crafty mavens out there, just like me, that will always try to figure it out for themselves.  So here's a little sweet DIY for you...

Here is the tutorial I did for this little heart pom cupcake topper.  It's my second Valentine's Topper over on The Sweetest Occasion.  It's incredibly cute and easy to make.  

Here is a link to the Clay Table Numbers and Flags tutorial also on The Sweetest Occasion.  The possibilities are endless...I'm going to try to make a pennant garland out of clay for Henry's birthday (which I just realized is two and a half weeks away...EEK!)

I'm off to reorganize the guest room back to being a guest room from the craft explosion that happened earlier this week.  The blogosphere is also buzzing with tons of Valentine's goodies, so I'll be out a-lookin' for a yummy treat to make for the preschool party...HAPPY WEEKEND!

Valentine's DIY Toppers - Part 1

Hello lovelies!  It's that time again, I have two little DIYs for you over on The Sweetest Occasion.  Yes, I might be mildly addicted to toppers.  I promise not everything will be on a stick...although I will argue that it is next to garland and balloons as the easiest way to turn hum-drum into a jubilee!  Besides, how cute would it be if you came with a platter full to your kid's Valentine's Day party?

**To get the heartshaped brownies: I used box mix (I have yet to find a good recipe- tell me if you have one) and baked it in a foil lined 8x8 pan.  Let cool, lift out.  Cut with a heart shaped cookie cutter.  (eat scraps or make a compote with cool whip and strawberries - I meant to make a compote...they didn't survive) I used a fluted cutter from Wilton I found at Target last year.

The Sweetest Occasion

Hello, hello, hello.Oh boy...do I have some incredible news to share with you! That little surprise I eluded to yesterday, well...I've got a new column over on The Sweetest Occasion, which is one of the prettiest sites out there with wedding and party goodness.  I'm so excited over this I can hardly write.  So, if I say "excited" like 50 billion times...I really can't help it. Eek! Cyd, fab wedding/event blogger and just the sweetest ever, was accepting submissions for new columns and ideas and I applied. (I sent in the below DIY.)  You are looking at...the second new DIY contributing editor...moi. Woo Hoo. The fabulous part is...I will be working opposite another fabulous DIY lovely, Ms. Chelsea of Lovely Indeed, who not only is one amazing crafty chica, but is an actress touring the country.  So every week, you will find a new super awesome DIY on The Sweetest Occasion, one last week from Chelsea, and one this week from me...this is going to be fun!
